Join us at the Stirling Court Hotel for a full day of bridge, learning and discussion in the beautiful grounds of the University of Stirling.
The weekend begins with an optional seminar led by Julia Palmer on Suit Preference Signals, followed by a full Swiss Pairs event across seven rounds. The day concludes with an informal evening discussion of interesting hands from the session.

Central District Congress
Join us in Montrose for the 2026 Central District Congress, returning once again to the Park Hotel across a full weekend of bridge.
Running from Friday 14 August to Sunday 16 August, the congress features a varied programme of events including a Pre-Congress Teams, Pairs Championship, Teams Championship and a Sunday evening Swiss Pairs event.
The weekend offers a welcoming mix of competitive and social bridge in one of Scotland’s long-standing congress settings.

1st Online Swiss Pairs
Entry Fee of £20 per pair. On entry you receive a code number which should be passed to your partner. On the morning of the event a link will appear on the front page of the SBU website. When you click the link you will be asked for the code and then sent to Real Bridge.
Start Time 11.00 am Finish time around 5.30 – 6.00 pm. There will be a break of about 40 minutes around 1:50 - 2.00 pm
The events will run as traditional Swiss Pairs – there will be 48 boards in 8 rounds of 6 boards scored in match points and converted to VP’s. There will be .25 of a national point for each win and .13 for a draw. There will be 4 National (red) points for the winners and awards for the top third of the field.
The event will be played on RealBridge.

Stirling Pairs
Sponsored by Balathie Country House Hotel with a two nights bed and breakfast stay going to each player in the winning handicapped pair
This is a pairs event run as a Howell of 40 odd boards, scored by total matchpoints . It will be held on REAL BRIDGE. In the event of a large entry it will revert to its traditional two session event.
Entry fee £32 per pair, half price under 26 and free for under 21
The winners of the event will, as normal, be decided on the Match Point score. However the sponsorship prize will be decided by handicap as outlined below.
Masterpoints: there will be 10 National (red) points for the winners and awards for the top half of the field. (If there are fewer than 48 pairs the award will be reduced pro rata.)
HANDICAPS (averaged for two players of diferent ranks. e.g. a Silver player (+4) and a Gold player (0) would get +2 MPs.
Bronze 1 (<= Club Master) 10 MPs

Edinburgh Youth Bridge Event

Itinerary: Petit Bridge and Mini Bridge tasters for newcomers as well as a 12-board duplicate for youth players
11-12am: Petit Bridge Taster (5-10 year olds, parents welcome)
12-1.30pm: Mini Bridge Taster (10-26 yrs, parents welcome)
1.30-2pm: Break. Registration for the competition.
2-4pm: Bridge duplicate competition for existing youth players (10-26 year olds)
Families can come along and bring siblings to try the tasters in the morning. Parents are welcome to join the tasters at a separate adults table.

This is a Swiss Team competition. There will be around 40+ boards. The number of rounds will depend on the numbers entered.
The event will start at NOON and should finish around 6.30 pm. There will be a break for refreshments around 2.00 pm. Food and drink will be available from the Carlton cafe all day.
The entry fee is £64 per team, players under 26 are half price and under 21 free.
Masterpoints: An award of 0.25 of a National Point is made for each match won, 0.13 for a draw.
There will be bonus awards for competitors finishing in the top 25%. (If there are fewer than 24 teams the awards will be reduced pro rata.
Scottish Cup
This is our Premier Tournament, a Face to Face knock out competition for teams of 4.
The entry fee is £64 per team, players under 26 are half price and under 21 free.
Teams knocked out before the Quarter Final are entered in the Plate.

National League Weekend 1
This is a Round Robin Teams event over two days.
The entry fee is £128 per team, players under 26 are half price and under 21 free.
The top teams (6 or more, depending on entry) will qualify for a second weekend. The International Committee will be using this event to pick the Camrose Teams (there will be an SBU team as well).

Aviemore Congress
The Scottish Bridge Aviemore Congress will be broadly similar to the Highland District Aviemore Congress with a few tweaks and additions e.g.. starting on the Friday afternoon with a session for early arrivals. Also, those Pairs or Teams who don't make the main Finals or Consolation Finals, will play a session of Swiss Pairs or Swiss Teams which gives more people the opportunity to earn red points. This is similar to how the Peebles Congress ran in the past couple of years.

Summer Youth Camp
More than just a bridge camp, this is a full weekend of learning, competition, friendship and fun set within the beautiful grounds of the University of Stirling.
Open to all skill levels aged 10-26, the camp is designed to help young players grow in confidence, sharpen their strategic thinking and enjoy the social side of the game in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Throughout the weekend, attendees will:
Learn how to play bridge or develop existing skills

Receive guidance from experienced accredited teachers and expert players

East District Congress Swiss Teams
Join us at the Carlton Bridge Club for the 2026 East District Congress, featuring a full weekend of red-pointed Swiss Pairs and Swiss Teams events.
Held across Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June, the congress includes the Cowan Cup Swiss Pairs and the Hunter Cup Swiss Teams, alongside prize categories for Silver and Bronze competitors.
Both events are designed to offer a full day of competitive bridge in a welcoming club environment.

East District Congress Swiss Pairs
Join us at the Carlton Bridge Club for the 2026 East District Congress, featuring a full weekend of red-pointed Swiss Pairs and Swiss Teams events.
Held across Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June, the congress includes the Cowan Cup Swiss Pairs and the Hunter Cup Swiss Teams, alongside prize categories for Silver and Bronze competitors.
Both events are designed to offer a full day of competitive bridge in a welcoming club environment.

The weekend begins with the Cowan Cup Swiss Pairs, played over:

Café Bridge: Strathhaven
Café Bridge brings duplicate bridge into cafés, restaurants and public spaces across local communities.
Rather than remaining in a single venue, pairs move between different locations throughout the day while boards stay in place, creating a relaxed, social and highly enjoyable format of play. Many events include refreshments within the entry fee, alongside opportunities to explore local venues and meet fellow players along the way.
Beyond the bridge itself, Café Bridge events often support charities, encourage local sponsorship and help introduce the game to wider audiences by making bridge more visible, welcoming and community-focused.

Online Bronze Swiss Pairs
Join us online for the Bronze Swiss Pairs, a national event designed specifically for Bronze-level players looking to enjoy a full afternoon of competitive yet accessible bridge.
The event will be played on Bridge Base Online (BBO) and can be entered on the day by searching for SBU under the Competitions section.
The competition features seven Swiss rounds with slightly extended playing time per board to allow for a more relaxed pace of play.

Start Time 12:00pm
Approximate Finish 5:00pm
A break of approximately 30 minutes will take place after the first three rounds.
Format & Awards
The event will consist of:
7 x 5-board rounds
35 boards in total
8 minutes per board
National Point awards include:
0.25 National Points for each match win
0.13 National Points for each draw
4 National (Red) Points awarded to the winners
Bonus awards will also be distributed across approximately the top third of the field.
Entry Information
Entry is $10 per player and registration takes place directly through BBO on the day of the event.
Players must hold Bronze rank status as of 1 May 2026 to be eligible to enter.
Arthur Trophy
Join us at the Carlton Bridge Club for the Arthur Trophy, a national event exclusively for Scotland’s Gold-ranked players, including Life Masters, Senior Life Masters and Grand Masters.
Played as a one-day pairs competition using Butler scoring (IMPs), the event brings together many of the country’s leading players for an afternoon of competitive bridge in a relaxed club setting.
Approximately 40 boards will be played across the day, with the event expected to finish around 6:30pm.

National Point Awards
The Arthur Trophy carries a strong National Point award structure, including:

Awards to approximately the top half of the field
Prize awards are based on an entry of 20 pairs and may be adjusted proportionally for smaller fields.
